Japan enacts next-generation medical infrastruture law using big data

The new law regulates the anonymous processing of medical information to contribute to R&D in the medical field. Data from medical institutions and other providers are anonymously processed and can be used by universities and companies for large-scale research on drug efficacy and evaluation, drug discovery and development of new medical devices.
